Census 2010 – You Count

Get ready! Census 2010 is coming soon! On 10 October 2010 – or, on “10-10-10” - census interviewers will fan into all districts of the Cayman Islands, to begin the official housing and population count.

When the census interviewers knock on your door, remember: You matter, and your voice matters! So welcome the census interviewers into your home. A household of 2-3 persons will take only 25 minutes to complete the census interview.
If you have questions about the census, take a look at the FAQs on this webpage. You’ll probably find your answers there.

But before you “turn the page,” here’s an interesting census fact: A total of 223 countries and areas are taking a census between 2005 and 2014 — from Indonesia, Russia and Brazil, to Namibia and Mexico, the HYPERLINK http://content.usatoday.com/topics/topic/Organizations/Government+Bodies... \o "More news, photos about United Nations" United Nations Statistics Division reports. Why? Because census data helps governments, businesses, civic groups and individuals to make sound decisions.

Keep this in mind, as the Economics and Statistics Office rolls out Cayman’s census. Everyone who participates enables better decision-making in the Cayman Islands. Make sure you’re counted!
